My First Journal
This brings you all the goodness of our Junior edition adapted for you to enjoy with the 3 to 6 year old in your life.
It’s specially designed to be a shared experience, and there are lots of prompts along the way to help spark lovely conversations as you fill out the pages. We have deliberately left things flexible so you can make the journal your own, with plenty of space for a shared writing, drawing and colouring experience.
The recommended age range is 6 to 12. Depending on your child’s reading and writing abilities they may need some guidance at the younger end of the scale.
The journal pages have been designed to have little writing and there is plenty of space for different handwriting styles or drawing. The paper quality can cope with a range of pencils and pens.
We highly recommend you fill out the journal with your child, even acting as scribe if your child is tired or dislikes writing, so that the emphasis can be on the conversation and reflection rather than the act of writing.
Available in yellow and limited edition colours. Translated into Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish available from eu.happyselfjournal.com for EU shipping.
This one is designed with teens and young adults in mind. It follows the same daily journaling format but with a slightly more grown-up feel (ie without our family of characters). It also introduces a weekly structure and emphasis on developing healthy habits.
Available in cobalt blue and limited edition colours. Translated into Spanish, Dutch, German, French and Italian available from eu.happyselfjournal.com for EU shipping.
We launched the Grown-Up edition so you could become the ultimate role model for positive habits by journaling alongside your little ones (clue: it starts with you), or simply by taking a few mindful moments for yourself each day.
Beautifully illustrated and easy to use, you will discover how to express gratitude and reflect on your emotions. It’s not about pursuing happiness for the sake of it but rather about bringing meaningful practices into your day so that you can best equip yourself to ride the rollercoaster that is life, with confidence and resilience.
My First Journal and Junior Journal
The journal has three months of daily journaling pages and a section at the front they can fill out at any time. Children are encouraged to fill out their journal every day but as the pages aren't dated it is possible to do it at your own rhythm and easy to keep going should you miss a day.
Three months is an ideal length as it's similar to a school term and so feels achievable for the children to establish their new daily journaling habit. When testing the kids preferred this length and a longer book would have been too bulky or heavy for small hands.
This journal also has three months of undated daily journaling pages and a section that can be filled out at any time at the front. It also introduces a weekly structure with pages to preview and review the week.
This journal has more space for free journaling on the daily pages.

COVID-19 update September 2021
We are still noticing some disruption to postal services in the UK and aboard due to increased volumes and challenging working conditions with staff shortages and the movement of goods around the carrier networks taking longer than expected. Delivery times still remain less predictable and may take longer. Please be patient if your parcel hasn't arrived yet and leave enough time before getting in touch with us. Unfortunately once your parcel is in the postal system there is nothing we can do to speed things up!
Thank you so much for your understanding during these unprecedented times.
Pre Covid-19 shipping times are as follows:
Shipping times can vary greatly but expect the following:
UK: 1 to 2 working days
Europe: 3 to 10 working days
USA and Canada: 3 to 10 working days
Rest of World: 5 to 25 working days
We are currently available in a small number of shops in the UK and abroad including Liberty London.
If you are a retailer who is interested in stocking the journal please email email@example.com. We are currently only stocking those with a physical retail presence.
Good question! :-)
The HappyMe Journal is the US edition of The HappySelf Journal and both are published by HappySelf Ltd a UK based company. The US is the only region we sell our journal as The HappyMe Journal.
This edition is exactly the same inside and has been edited to reflect US English spellings.
Funnily enough HappyMe was one of the original names we had picked for our journal back when we started work on it in 2017 so it's nice to have it out with this name after all!
Here at HappyMe we are committed to being as eco-friendly as possible, and it is important to us that we use sustainable, recyclable materials where we can. We review this with our production partners regularly.
The ink we use is eco-offset and has no hazardous substances. All the paper and card used in our journals is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. The thread used to sew the binding is made from recycled water bottles. All our packaging is climate neutral and made with FSA paper and fully recyclable.
Our cover is Vegan friendly and made from polyurethane which can be recycled.
All waste paper used during production is recycled, and we use land and sea transportation wherever possible.
All our production partners regularly visit suppliers, and all suppliers and production partners abide and are governed by the local law of their country.
