My 7yr old daughter has been using this a week and had her 1st couple of break throughs. I was so proud my eyes watered up ?????? She struggles with anxiety (picks her nails), generally more at school. A worrier. Cries when she thinks she’s going to get told off. A defeatist. Covers her ears, when we try to talk/explain things. Sensitive. Runs off when she doesn’t want to listen. Lower confidence & esteem... These over the top emotional outbursts have been around the last year I guess (yr 2 of primary school). Being one the youngest in her class, I thought may have it’s difficulties. We have a moto ‘Try, Try & Try Again’. This was so we could install more positivity in her, to keep going, you’ll get it, don’t give up. This has mostly fallen on deaf ears. We were at a park yesterday & she was attempting to climb a rock wall. Not able to get a good grip, she kept falling off & said she couldn’t do it. I reminded her “Yes you can”. I watched from close by, she kept trying until she did it. The pride she felt was fantastic. I came over to give her a big hug. She said “See Mummy, Try, Try & Try Again & I did it” ?? Crikey... I wish I had this journal growing up! Thank u to the creator, such a simple but wonderful thing you have done!
Fantastic journal for my 8 year old which explains happiness and growth mindset perfectly. We love the fun pages that really allow my son to see how many amazing qualities he has it’s a great boost for him! We’ve only been using the journal for 3 days and I already see a change in mindset. It’s actually great for all the family to focus on things we are grateful for. I was initially thinking it’s expensive but with the impact it’s having it’s a tiny price to pay for the happiness it’s creating.
We have one for our daughter (8) who loves it and helps her greatly with becoming more mindful. She fills it in every night, diligently. In order to make it "OK not to be OK", we also include things that trouble us in the 3 top things ("top" then becomes 'top of your mind'). Furthermore, my daughter often circles more than one emoji of the day, as the day is usually full of ups and downs, and we can talk about them all. Overall, it is a fantastic concept and I am very pleased to have stumbled across this well-designed and high quality journal <3 Well done and thank you, Francesca.
My 10 year old son was struggling with pre teen emotions and I bought the journal as a way to encourage him to think more positively, as well as give us an opportunity to talk about his feelings. It’s been a great success - it gives me and his dad an insight into his world and also helps him to see that not every day is a happy sunny day, but that good things still happen. He has just completed his first 7 days and has asked if he can continue with more journals once the first one is finished. It’s a breakthrough that I never expected - I wasn’t sure it would work for my child as we were really struggling to get him to open up and discuss his feelings, but it has worked and he actually wants to complete each day. Really recommend for all those sensitive souls out there!
My 9 year old son won’t go to bed until he’s written on his journal. I have even seen him get out of bed when he’s realised he’s not done it that night. It is really helping him wind down and focus on the positives of the day. He’s conscious/concerned that he will need a new journal soon so he’s pushing me to buy the next one already!! Absolutely brilliant product! Thank you!
I’ve just bought a journal for my 7 year old who is a bag of emotions these days. The journal is beautiful. It is pithed perfectly for primary school kids (and beyond because quite frankly I fancy getting one myself!). It gives children prompts of what to focus on, daily inspirational quotes, space to write their own feelings. I especially like the ‘emoji of the day’ - such a simple way to see how your child has rated their day. Such a beautifully curated journal to help your child navigate those pesky emotions! 💛
We are so delighted with the Journal, such a beautiful activity to do each day with your little one. Growth Mindset and positivity should be promoted at an early age and this ticks all the boxes!
The journal has been a really lovely activity to do with my children at the end of a busy day. A time to reflect on what has gone on that day which gave an 'in' to find out how they were feeling and if there were any worries. A great way of connecting with them which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The journal also allowed them to realise that the things that made them happy didn't have to be a big event but just appreciating the small things day to day, such as enjoying break time with friends, were equally as satisfying and positive as a special treat night out with the family.
I gave the journal to my 8yr old godchild during a weekend away. He immediately loved the journal and very much enjoyed filling it out together. The next day he spontaneously reminded me we needed to fill out the next page. Thank you Francesca for developing such a valuable tool for mental wellbeing for kids.
My 8 year old has loved filling in each page. And I've discovered he's branching out and adding thoughts and emotions to the other pages too, entirely independently. This can only be a positive thing.
Easy to read and follow, packed full of helpful information and assistance to develop young minds in a positive nurturing way. We love it and think every child should have one!
