FAQs
My First Journal
This brings you all the goodness of our Junior edition adapted for you to enjoy with the 3 to 6 year old in your life.
It’s specially designed to be a shared experience, and there are lots of prompts along the way to help spark lovely conversations as you fill out the pages. We have deliberately left things flexible so you can make the journal your own, with plenty of space for a shared writing, drawing and colouring experience.
Junior Journal
The recommendedage range is 6 to 12. Depending on your child’s reading and writing abilities they may need some guidance at the younger end of the scale.
The journal pages have been designed to have little writing and there is plenty of space for different handwriting styles or drawing. The paper quality can cope with a range of pencils and pens.
We highly recommend you fill out the journal with your child, even acting as scribe if your child is tired or dislikes writing, so that the emphasis can be on the conversation and reflection rather than the act of writing.
Teen Journal
This one is designed with teens and young adults in mind. It follows the same daily journaling format but with a slightly more grown-up feel (ie without our family of characters). It also introduces a weekly structure and emphasis on developing healthy habits.
Grown-Up Journal
We launched the Grown-Up edition so you could become the ultimate role model for positive habits by journaling alongside your little ones (clue: it starts with you), or simply by taking a few mindful moments for yourself each day.
Beautifully illustrated and easy to use, you will discover how to express gratitude and reflect on your emotions. It’s not about pursuing happiness for the sake of it but rather about bringing meaningful practices into your day so that you can best equip yourself to ride the rollercoaster that is life, with confidence and resilience.
My First Journal and Junior Journal
The journal has 12 full weeks of daily journaling pages and a section at the front they can fill out at any time. Children are encouraged to fill out their journal every day but as the pages aren't dated it is possible to do it at your own rhythm and easy to keep going should you miss a day.
12 weeksis an ideal length as it'ssimilar to a school term and so feels achievable for the children to establish their new daily journaling habit. When testing the kids preferred this length and a longer book would have been too bulky or heavy for small hands.
Teen Journal
This journal also has 12 full weeks of undated daily journaling pages and a section that can be filled out at any time at the front. It also introduces a weekly structure with pages to preview and review the week.
This journal has more space for free journaling on the daily pages.
Grown-Up Journal
This journal also has 12 full weeks of daily pages and a section at the front that can be filled out any time. Undated so you can fill it out daily or in a way that suits you.

Good question! :-)
The HappyMe Journal is the US edition of The HappySelf Journal and both are published by HappySelf Ltd a UK based company. The US is the only region we sell our journal as The HappyMe Journal.
This edition is exactly the same inside and has been edited to reflect US English spellings.
Funnily enough HappyMe was one of the original names we had picked for our journal back when we started work on it in 2017 so it's nice to have it out with this name after all!
Here at HappyMe we are committed to being as eco-friendly as possible, and it is important to us that we use sustainable, recyclable materials where we can. We review this with our production partners regularly.
